The Band 8 sports a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a 368×194 resolution, exactly the same as the previous model. For the design, the only notable change is that it went from having a case with curved edges to having flat edges. Aside from that and more strap options, everything else looks to be identical to the Band 7, including the single home button on the side. For health and fitness, it is equipped with slightly improved sensors to track your blood oxygen levels, heart rate, sleep quality, stress, and menstrual cycle. It also has 100 workout modes, four more than the previous generation, to accurately track your activities including running, cycling, swimming, skipping, football, basketball, cage tennis, and electronic sports. Battery life on the new device has seen no improvement, capable of lasting a maximum of 14 days, although it’s only nine days with normal usage and three days with the always-on display activated. The smart band fully charges in 45 minutes and if you’re in a hurry, a five-minute top-up will give you two days of battery life. On the software side, when it’s connected to your phone, it can provide incoming call and message notifications and well as enable quick replies. Moreover, the Band 8 can be used to control music, find your phone, and even act as a remote camera shutter button. The Band 8 retails at RM219, but for those who pre-order between 1 to 5 June, you can get it at a discounted price of RM169 on the brand’s Lazada store.
